So what’s The Cinder Block Comedy Festival exactly? It’s a four-day comedy festival with over 150 performers in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, showcasing diversity in comedy, happening September 15-18. You will see everything from sketch to stand-up to improv to musical comedy. The festival is spread over 11 Williamsburg venues and there’s almost limitless shows you’ll be able to attend. The lineup includes headliners Baron Vaughn, who you know from Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, Fairly Legal, Black Dynamite and Cloverfield; Laurie Kilmartin, CONAN writer on TBS and totally killing it with the The Jackie and Laurie Show podcast on the Nerdist network; Jon Laster, one of four in the country to be selected for HBO’s Comedy Wings Showcase; Marga Gomez, who Robin Williams called “a lesbian Lenny Bruce” and has appeared on LOGO’s One Night Stand Up, Showtime’s Latino Laugh Festival, and Comedy Central’s Out There.
