Playing House has just the perfect mix of funny and heartwarming. If you are a fan of Judd Apatow films, this comedy is for you. Emma, played by Jessica St Clair, (Review,Bridesmaids) is a career-driven woman excited to attend her best friend Maggie’s baby shower. Maggie, played by Lennon Parham (Arrested Development, Mad Men), still lives in the quaint small town the ladies grew up in and Emma escaped from. During the shower a wrench is thrown into Maggie’s future and Emma is forced to decide if she should stay to support her longtime friend or save her job. The wonderful rapport between St Clair and Parham makes the relationship between the characters truly believable and a joy to watch. Some of the supporting characters that lend a richness to this comedy include Zach Woods as Zach Harper, Keegan-Michael Key as officer Mark Rodriguez and Brad Morris as Maggie’s husband Bruce Caruso.
