Day two of of Comedy Central‘s social media bonanza, #ComedyFest, focused on the contemporary movers and shakers of the comedic social media world. The goal of the first panel “I Figured Out The Internet: Secrets of My Twitter Success” was to focus on the power of microblogging (I think). Twitter sweethearts Jake Fogelnest (@jakefogelnest), Shelby Fero (@shelbyfero), Ted Travelstead (@trumpetcake), Amber E. (@rare_basement), and Julieanne Smolinski (@BoobsRadley) made up this crazy panel. I don’t know that there was a lot of sage advise bestowed upon the Twitter masses but the microbloggers did show why they stand out among the crowd. Between the rice pimping, allergies, and Gangnam style it’s a miracle some questions were actually answered.
Okay, question for everyone on the panel! What is the one piece of advice you’d give to people for running a great Twitter? #ComedyFest

Jake Fogelnest tried his best to find out what makes these microbloggers so successful.

Amber E. knows where her priorities are.
The best thing that’s happened to me because of Twitter is my Tori’s Rice© sponsorship, and being on this panel. #ComedyFest

Ted Travelstead was obsessed with rice.

I also eat 17 buttons every morning. That ones not a twitter thing just a basic cry for help. So hey it is like a twitter thing! #comedyfest

Shelby Fero barely held it together.
@boobsradley I am sorry about your seasonal allergies, but they may be exactly what makes you GREAT AT TWITTER! #ComedyFest
— Jake Fogelnest (@jakefogelnest) April 30, 2013
Poor Julieanne Smolinski was grappling with some series allergies which she demonstrated with an “eye opening” photo ( I will spare you). However she did note that “Twitter is like Grindr for people with seasonal allergies or rice endorcement deals.” She hit it right on the money! It’s a good thing the proceeds of this panel discussion went to fund MS. Phew!
