We are happy to report The Sup Doc Podcast reached a milestone this week. In honor of their FIVE YEAR anniversary, the podcast will be recapping food documentaries every Monday in May. The podcast is hosted by comedians and doc aficionados Paco Romane and George Chen who every episode highlight documentary creations and cover topics through a comedic point of view. With their first food-themed month, called Munchie May, they are addressing a subject that’s on everyone’s mind during this pandemic, FOOD.
Sup Doc will a be partnering on promotions with different restaurants and food businesses struggling through quarantine closures while discussing food docs that address food topics ranging from “factory farming to the artistic vision of driven chefs and ethnographic folkways.” The first episode in the series has already dropped and it covers the 2015 documentary NOMA: MY PERFET STORM, directed by Pierre Deschamps, with guest and comedian Derek Sheen. The documentary looks at the culinary philosophy of lauded Danish chef René Redzepi whose restaurant NOMA ranked “Best Restaurant in The World” by Restaurant magazine in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. The foodie comic Sheen “lauds chef Rene Redzepi (Macho Caballero) as a genius pushing the edge of his craft, and that dedication to innovation is comparable to what comedians go through honing their acts.” Looks like you have a lot to look forward to this May!
