Inspired by modern micro-pop icons like Carly Rae Jepsen and Kim Petras, NYC’s IAN LOCKWOOD’s first studio EP Nasty brings the world a new style of comedy music where you get both euphony and comedy in one. Lockwood is a Brooklyn-based comedian and pop musician. He is also the co-host of Hot Teens show at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective and has graced the Earwolf podcast Earwolf Presents with his presence. Nasty may be Ian’s first EP release, but we are certain it’s not the last. In the new EP, out May 1st, Lockwood has fun with classic pop themes. When we say “fun” we mean taking “funny bops” out of the stratosphere and into alternative mind-spaces. For examples, the title track “Nasty” asks “what if a ‘bad girl’ were actually guilty of more nefarious acts, ie being “manipulative and murderous.” Oh my!!! You also get plenty of wild suppositions, inventive parodies, catchy hooks, and, of course, entertaining punchlines. Keep an eye for this tantalizing display of talent!
