From the gal who is a habitual “broccoli” misspeller, this show means so much. TOMORROW, March 5th at UCB Hell’s Kitchen, it is, once again, time for the letters to drop with a new ADULT SPELLING BEE. In honor of, I assume, spring training, the theme of the show will be Baseball, and former MLB player for the Mets and Phillies Ty Kelly will joining the ASB fray as a guest judge. Come watch your favorite comedians, writers, and performers as they try to to make peace with their middle school past by taking home an adult spelling bee trophy. Jokes and surprises abound as these brave souls partake in the ultimate spelling test:
Michael C. Maronna (The Adventures of Pete & Pete, The Adventures of Danny & Mike)
Sam Ruddy (Colbert, Full Frontal w/ Samantha Bee)
Ted Berg(The Quad-A Baseball Quiz)
Mike Janela (Mets host, MSG Networks, Billboard News)
Judges
Danielle Sepulveres (The Washington Post, The New York Times, InStyle)
Cara Jeffrey (#MetsTwitter)
Hosted by Bethany Kay (DIETLAND, I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE)
I hear free copies of Jeff Pearlman’s book “The Bad Guys Won” and Emily Nemens’ “The Cactus League” will be up for grabs, as well as, yummy peanuts and Cracker Jack! There was also some mention of an Astros cheating scandal but you’ll have to find out about that IN PERSON. Spelling batter up!
Mentions: Show 7:30pm. $9 tickets HERE. UCB Hell’s Kitchen is located at 555 W 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036. This show was created and is written by Danielle Sepulveres.
