You can’t have love without a little terror. After you’re good and done with your Valentine or anti-Valentine celebration, head on over to the Brooklyn Comedy Collective for a “spectacularly spooky comedy show” experience. HOFF’S HORRORFEST will be presenting Stuart Gordon’s vision of the H.P. Lovecraft classic “From Beyond,” starring the haunting Jeffrey Combs as Dr. Crawford Tillinghast. If you are unfamiliar with the horror flick, it is the loosely based 1986 adaptation of Lovecraft’s pineal probing short story about researchers who activate a machine that allows interdimensional beings to manifest in our reality. There seems to be a Lovecraftian resurgence going on. I’m thinking Nick Cage’s recent appearance in “Color Out of Space.” Can anyone say ALPACA? So it comes as no surprise that “From Beyond” will be the horror of this witching hour. Interspersed among a Resonator-friendly screening will be comedy bits, host segments and prize giveaways. The chillingly hilarious show will be hosted by Hoff Matthews (Comedy Central) and is co-produced by Ian Goldstein (The New Yorker), Tim Barnes (All That) and Andrei Alupului (Come Ova, UCB). Bow down to the Great Old Ones, and prepare for a comedy experiment like no other. SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!
