No, we’re not talking about the spirits that felines stare at inside your walls. GHOST TOWN, the Brooklyn-based comedy show that spawned the upcoming GHOST TOWN: The Series, is celebrating the FIRST ANNIVERSARY of it’s live debut this Friday, January 24th at Friends and Lovers in Brooklyn. Expect highly humorous coverage of that extremely annoying behavior where “a person cuts off all communication with their friends or the person they’re dating, with zero warning or notice before hand.” I’d humbly say the dating variety is the worst of these scenarios. The evening will include a funny and diverse stand-up showcase with one comedian being pulled from the lineup to chat with host Savannah DesOrmeaux (New York Comedy Festival, American Horror Story) about a “ghost” that still haunts them. Chilling! The lineup includes:
Karen Chee (Late Night with Seth Meyers)
Shalewa Sharpe (HBO’s 2 Dope Queens, Netflix’s New Negroes)
Christi Chiello (Chris Gethard Presents, JFL New Faces)
Zach Teague (haüs party)
+ More special guests!
Now back to that SERIES! GHOST TOWN: The Series pilot has already been accepted into numerous festivals including Festigious, Top Shorts, Los Angeles Film Awards, and the Imagine This Women’s Festival. Throughout the series Savannah interviews NYC up-and-comers like, Andrew Barbato, Coral Pen, and Marina White, about their unique experiences with ghosting. The episodes combine an interview with internet age embellishments, tongue-in-cheek game segments, and conclude with a “Final Thoughts” segment, in which the guest says adieu to the ghost that’s been haunting them as Savannah sees off said ghost with a plume of sage. A ghost-less peace is all anyone could want! Check out the FIRST episode of the series February 13 for “Galentine’s Day” AND don’t miss the One Year Anniversary spectacular!
