You haven’t really lived if you don’t have a few scars to sport in front of your adoring friends, family, and perfect strangers. Sunday, November 10th for the The Frigid New York Festival, NPR host, critically-acclaimed author, Moth celeb, comic and storyteller Ophira Eisenberg will be telling you all about the battle wounds that have made her the warrior she is today. Those indelible marks of courage range from her putting a delicate finger through a meat grinder at the age of four to surviving a near fatal car crash.
In addition to some meaty first person storytelling, How to Get Rid of Scars will feature some audience interaction, including a Scar competition, Interview portion, and TWO guest storytellers (Michaela Murphy and Mike Albo) adding their personal perspectives on some noteworthy scars of their own. Ophira will be in fine competitive spirit as she shows the audience that she has more scars than anyone. Don’t test her, she’s prepared to prove it!
After all that, you may be asking, but what about the title of the show? That’s what drew me in. I need answers! Yup, kids, they’ve got you covered. It will all be exposed in the most delightful, cathartic way possible and you just may learn a few things. Let the healing begin!
