First off, all you Seattle fans get a big Comedy Cake hug. That game was brutal. Ouch! Luckily, there were a few Super Bowl XLVIII commercials that brought a big smile to our faces during the Broncos “Slaughterfest” 2014. It was kind of slim pickings in the comedy category but some spots stood out among the crowd. Here are our top 5, complete with Twitter reactions:
5. Honda’s “Big Game: #hugfest”
We love Fred Armisen! The Portlandia star can do no wrong in our eyes. Most of the time he doesn’t even have to speak to make us giggle up a storm of mirth. Good job, Honda!
Bruce Willis Fred Armisen #priceless #hugfest

4. Squarespace’s “A Better Web Awaits”
Spam e-mail, pop up ads, memes, viral videos and more tech garbage were brought to life in Squarespace‘s Super Bowl ad. Sure, your folks probably had no clue what was going on but they’re barely on the Internet anyway. More laughs please, Squarespace.
So were there any ponies in the #Squarespace ad?

3. Volkswagon’s “Wings”
We’re overlooking the no women engineers this time, Volkswagon, but we still liked this ad. We were especially giddy to see a familiar comedian getting some big time exposure. Congrats, Matt Knudsen!
Not sure Hitler would like the direction Volkswagen's advertising is going.

2. Turbo Tax’s “Love Hurts”
John C Reilly was the perfect narrator for this commercial that captured everything the OTHER football fans were feeling as they watched the nation’s favorite pastime face-off. I had a good laugh over this one.
Don't listen to Turbo Tax, guys. Sean's are pretty cool.

Don't worry, Sean is def gay. #SuperBowl

1. RadioShack’s “The Phone Call”
What a self-deprecating and nostalgic look back at the good ole’ days. Radio Shack outdid themselves with this 80s-themed ad poking fun at the time warp the electronics retailer seems to be stuck in. Alf and Hulk Hogan in one place? You just can’t go wrong. Winner!
Kid n Play! Teen Wolf! Mary Lou Retton! Alf! Hulk Hogan! Damn, Radio Shack, I AM HAPPY! I won't buy anything, but still! #sb48
