AMY MARCS’ critically-acclaimed solo comedy NICE T!TShas been playing for five years on the east coast and TONIGHT. it gets infused with power of a special celebrity reading featuring the faces of Broadway & TV. Marcs’ whirlwind story reminds me of that quote from A Christmas Story , “sometimes, at the height of our revelries, when our joy is at its zenith, when all is most right with the world, the most unthinkable disasters descend upon us.” Just when life was at it’s pinnacle for Amy, the “sexy NY Jewess with a great rack” was diagnosed with breast cancer. Through Amy’s show she navigates everything that that that comes along with such a life-altering experience including “doctor visits, toy stores, show tune singing nurses, and her understandably healthy obsession with her breasts.” You know, all the normal stuff. *wink* On what she to expect from the show Marcs remarks,
One of the goals of the show is to get the topic of breast cancer (and its aftermath) out of the closet in order to inspire and honest conversation about what it means to lose your breasts to cancer, how that impacts you, your partner, your sexuality, your identity, and even your family.
Marcs will be joined at The Triad by these great celebrity ladies TONIGHT:
Geneva Carr (Bull, Hand to God)
Laura Kai Chen (HER, Days of Our Lives)
Leigh Ann Larkin (Gypsy, Blue Bloods)
Elena Ricardo (Beautiful, Mamma Mia)
Directed by Coco Cohn
A portion of the proceeds will go to support The Actors Fund’s Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, a program that “addresses the myriad of concerns women face when dealing with a serious medical condition and provides a safe space to go to for confidential and compassionate help.” Be there for the laughing and loving “reconstructive” comedy!
