By now you’ve learned about the embarrassing saga that is Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” tattoo snafu. What was meant to visually celebrate and represent her hit single “7 Rings” turned out to instead read shichirin or “BBQ Grill” in Japanese kanji. (Can you imagine if this was an episode of “Ink Masters?” Ouch!!!) Your new favorite diverse comedy collective Overstep Comedy has turned this sour lemon debacle into lemonade with their parody of Ariana’s “7 Rings” single, aptly called Small Charcoal Grill / Shichirin. Watch as Overstep drops some beats while cookin’ up some smokin’ Kobe beef (and staying true to the “7 Rings” aesthetic). Enjoy!
The musical parody features Andy Shartzer as the pop diva Andiana just grilling up some meats with the boys. The comedy video features the “Grill-friends” Otter Lee, Jonathan Lu, Stefan Sens, and Peter Sriployrung. Lyrics by Shartzer. Direction and editing by Jatin Chhugani . Otter Lee & Helen Shih were responsible for production and production design.
