Everyone needs an anthem to call their own, right? POOR, Anna Roisman’s (host of HQ words, QuickieFest creator) new ‘Unemployed Show’ parody song, unites the tired, the poor, the unemployed, freelancing huddled masses just scraping by, but continuing to dream. The parody of the 90s throwback jam Torn (by Australian-British singer Natalie Imbruglia) tells one woman’s riches to rags, unemployment tale. She may have had a corporate job once, but after being laid off on election night, is now “eating ramen on the floor.” She may have to sell everything to make ends meet, but at least she has her hard wood floors (and some dignity) to hold on to. Enjoy “Poor” now!
