Hey kids, the TV Writers & Comedians Show & Mixer is back and ready to mingle. Each month Melinda Hill welcomes comedians to perform their sets in front of a panel of real TV writers who pitch TV shows based on the comedian’s material. That means the pitches are improvised on the fly with the TV writers watching the performances for the first time. No pressure. The winning TV pitch is rewarded with a sweet prize. This month features Claudia Lonow who created, wrote and produced the ABC sitcom How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) starring Sarah Chalke, Brad Garrett, and Elizabeth Perkins. Writer and producer on Jim Jeffries Show, Last Week With Jon Oliver, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, Kevin Avery, will also be in attendance, with more participants to be announced. The mixer’s past line-ups have included writers and comedians from The Daily Show, Letterman, Conan, Arrested Development, Modern Family, DailyTransparent, I’m Dying Up Here, Crashing, Curb Your Enthusiasm, & more. Don’t miss this opportunity to mix with like-minded artists while laughing up a storm Tuesday, October 9th at Bar Lubitsch.
Mentions: Cocktails & mingle 7pm, Show 7:30pm. $20 pre-sale tix, $25 at the door. Bar Lubitsch is located at 7702 Santa Monica Blvd., W Hollywood, CA 90046.
