When I saw the number 104 I instantly thought of the Duplass brothers’ HBO show Room 104 where all the episodes are set in a single room of a typical hotel, where the storytelling revolves around the new inhabitants. (Yes, I’m still thinking about “The Internet” episode.) WeWork Conference Room 104, happening Friday, October 5th at The PIT Loft, is a sketch show that takes place in, you guessed it, a conference room in a midtown WeWork, the most coveted conference room in the entire midtown Manhattan WeWork in fact. Yes, I had to look up what a WeWork was, since I’m an LAite, and this is what I found out: it’s a corporation “that provides shared workspaces, technology startup subculture communities, and services for entrepreneurs, freelancers, startups, small businesses and large enterprises.”
OK, now that you we are in the know, more about the show. The characters from different companies in the shared office space hold meetings to cover their objectives and the meeting agenda items cover everything from modern work culture and startups to creative field and the divine. Talk about a vast range of topics! The show was written by Brandon Follick and Steph Piperis, directed by Sam Reece, and stars Michelle Francesca Thomas, Max Ash, Lucia Mueller, Shelby Slauer, Claire Burns, and Ryan Chittaphong. Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of the technology startup subculture community! GO!
