Directed by Philip Markle, It’s a Wonderful Everything!, is a 1950’s satirical revue in which Kelly Cooper and Thomas Fricilone bring you an hour of sketches, songs, and dance that harken simpler times. You’ll be privy to “a husband and wife slowly lose their minds, a private investigator that can’t keep his multiple personalities at bay, trouble inside a Cold War bunker, and (brace yourself) a woman with a man’s name!” Gasp!
The partnership of Cooper & Fritz started at the Annoyance Theatre NY, where the duo co-wrote the plays Mandatory Seminar and The Siblings. Later they founded the ever-stranger comedy channel and newsletter Ground Floor Comedy where they honed their craft of awkward and absurd comedy to a science. Director Philip Markle is currently Brooklyn Comedy Collective’s theatre director and has worked with Cooper & Fritz since he was the managing director at the Annoyance. Come see what they have in store for you this month (Friday, August 10th to be exact) at The Brick!
Mentions: Show 11pm. Tickets $5. Brooklyn Comedy Collective at The Brick Theatre is located at 579 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211. The Brooklyn Comedy Collective “was created in 2018 by Philip Markle and Annie Donley to produce theater that fosters and encourages risk-taking from a diversity of voices and inspires students to approach performance from a place of joy and fierceness.” All images by Beatrice Helman.
