I’ve yet to dislike anything that Reggie Watts is affiliated with, so I guess I’ll be totally watching TASKMASTER, coming to Comedy Central this April 27th. Watts (The Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Bang! Bang!) will be breathing new life into the BAFTA and Royal Television Society award-nominated British game show series where “individuals use ingenuity and creativity to complete unusual challenges.” Watts accompanied by his “task assistant,” original Taskmaster creator &
comedian Alex Horne, will invite celeb contestants to compete against one another in a series of eye-opening tasks.
The contestants are awarded points based on what they did and how they accomplished (or didn’t) said task. The contestant that has amassed the most points by the end of the episode, wins a “prized possession” that either they or their competitors have relinquished. At the end of the season, the player with greatest number of points overall wins the coveted trophy and becomes the champion of Taskmaster. Just some of the contestants you will be witnessing over the season include Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel), Kate Berlant (High Maintenance, Search Party), Dillon Francis (DJ, Record Producer), Lisa Lampanelli (stand-up and insult comic), and Ron Funches (Trolls, Undateable). Check out this trailer and get excited!
Mentions: Taskmaster will air two back-to-back episodes on Fridays at 11pm ET/PT for four weeks. Episodes of Taskmaster will be available the day of premiere on the Comedy Central App and cc.com. Episodes will launch the day after each premiere on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, VUDU, Verizon Flexview, Microsoft Movies & TV and Sony Playstation. Check out the show on cc.com or follow along on Comedy Central’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
