The comedy game was Super Glue strong with CONAN Monday. Not only did host Conan O’Brien and his pal Andy Richter welcome the “uniquely” adorned dynamic duo of Nick Kroll and John Mulaney, but the stand-up performance of the night was none other than one of my favorite comics in the world, Debra DiGiovanni. Kroll and Mulaney abandoned constricting suits for attire you might see at their pop-up store on Melrose. You know, the one with no parking. Their unparalleled success with “too much tuna” and other ventures has had them thinking about loftier exploits than just comedy. Sporting animal print scarves and “Mad Men” fedoras, how can you not be Hollywood clothiers and decorators to the stars? We won’t mention their penchant for Lunesta snorting, but it’s pretty clear this interview is a desperate cry for help. Next thing you know, they’ll be hanging out with Johnny Depp! Also, did I mention my scarf is missing?
When I awake each morning one of my top priorities is to read Debra DiGiovanni’s Twitter feed. Not only does it put a spring in my step, but is way cheaper than therapy. The woman is a comedy force to reckoned with and, as you will see in this performance, she’s taking no prisoners. Watch as she jokes about replacing botox with cheese to smooth away the lines of age, life without cat calling, naked sleeping phobia, and taking advantage of an old rule in comedy. Enjoy!
Mentions: Watch CONAN weeknights 11/10C on TBS.
