Winner of “Best North American Short” and “Best Film Script” at the London x4 Short Film Festival, named a Top 5 Comedy Short by Kevin Hart’s LOL Network at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, and 1st place for Best Pilot at Channel 101 NY, FLATBUSH MISDEMEANORS is the web series you need to keep your eye on. The series draws upon creators Dan Perlman and Kevin Iso’s experiences as two buddies with mental health issues living in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The first season featured the friends in a desperate life or death situation, owing money to some “Park Slopes” drug dealers. The season included incredible performances from Jeffrey Joseph (In Living Color), Kareem Green (Russell Simmons Presents), Drew Dowdey (Night Train with Wyatt Cenac), and Keturah Wright in her debut as Zayna. The SECOND season is coming to you this week in three parts with guest appearances from the super talented Aparna Nancherla and Yamaneika Saunders. Enjoy part one titled PUSH in which the guys seek some much needed therapy (featuring Nancherla as the therapist we should all go to). (WARNING: Adult situations and head shrinking.)
“Flatbush Misdeamnors” was co-created, co-wrote, and co-directed by stand ups Kevin Iso and Dan Perlman. Perlman created and wrote the animated series, That’s My Bus!, which recently received a pilot order from FOX. He’s appeared on TruTV, MTV2, and as a cast member on MTV’s Vidiots. After Iso was named one of Comedy Central’s Comics To Watch in 2015, his stand up was featured on AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party, and YouTube Red’s Alexander IRL. He can be seen at venues like Stand Up NY, Caroline’s on Broadway, The Stand in NYC, and clubs and colleges across the country.
