Hey kids, the crowdfunding campaign has already launched for filmmaker Katy Dolle and director Daniel Zagayer’s dramedy WE’LL NEVER MAKE IT, a project you should totally support. The short film is based on Katy’s own true story of a young woman who gets stuck on the side of the road with her autistic brother and kooky Jewish grandma on the way to a family wedding. As they struggle to make it to the event, their personalties butt heads via comedic and heartfelt moments. Dolle, a NYU-educated filmmaker, actress, producer, and editor, has worked with BuzzFeed, Smosh, New Rockstars, and ColourPop Cosmetics, among many others, and has spread awareness for important charities before in her widely-acclaimed directorial debut video Dancing Man Documentary about internet bullying.
Twenty percent of the Seed & Spark campaign budget for WE”LL NEVER MAKE IT will be donated to non-prfits for adults with disabilities. The crowd-funding incentives include custom Photoshop portraits, video editing, photography in exchange for backing of the project. The film stars Jon Hoffman as Kevin, who draws inspiration from his personal experiences with life on the spectrum; SJ Mendelson, as Nama, known for her work in Terms and Conditions (2016) & Beauty in the Broken (2015); and, of course, creator Katy Dolle as the lead female protagonist.
