The 6th Los Angeles Podcast Festival returns this weekend, October 6th through the 8th. Once again, LA Podfest will be bringing you the very best in podcasting, including live panels, parties, the DIY podcast lab, and a live standup comedy show. This 100% independent fest only gets better with age. This year in place of Sklar Brothers, TOFOP, WTF with Marc Maron, and Cashing In, you will get this stellar bunch of podcasts: Doug Loves Movies, Film Threat, 40 Year Old Boy, Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction with Bryan Cook, Cracked Podcast, Do You Need a Ride, Left Coast, Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast, The Political Vigilante Podcast by Graham Elwood (live debut), Quick Question by Jonathan Sadowski and Travis Clark, Rock Out with Your Doc Out, Road Stories with Murray Valeriano, Steele Wars, and the final, final live performance of the ever popular Walking the Room! Not too shabby, if I say so myself! There will also be very special KCRW Guest DJ Project featuring My Favorite Murder! Squee!
Of course, that’s not all, kids! Comedy Film Nerds will have New Kid on the Block’s Joey McIntyre and Rebel Radio will welcome THE Metta World Peace. The All-Star Saturday Stand Up Comedy Podsmash this year will include Podfest co-founder Graham Elwood as Master of Ceremonies alongside special guests Marc Maron, Jimmy Dore, Karen Kilgariff, Jackie Kashian, Laurie Kilmartin, Erin Foley, and Todd Glass. Oooof, that’s an unbelievable lineup!
To top off this magical fest, Friday there will be an EXCLUSIVE “Killing Gunther” Screening Friday where writer, director & star Taran Killam will introduce the R-rated comedy (featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bobby Moynihan, Cobie Smulders, Hannah Simone, and Allison Tolman) personally. AND if that wasn’t enough, at the end of 2017’s podfest, there will a discussion about all the hard work and folly that’s gonna into bringing you the fest featuring founders Dave Anthony (The Dollop), Chris Mancini and Graham Elwood (together, Comedy Film Nerds) and moderated by Simon Rust Lamb (Podfest “consigliere”). Will this year’s be the fest’s last? All we know is they will be partying like it is, so YOU SHOULD BE THERE. One Day Tickets are ON SALE now!
