TOMORROW at the legendary Duplex Cabaret Theatre in the West Village of Manhattan, a beauty pageant like no other will take place. This time the boys will be put on parade satirizing chauvinist stereotypes. The Miss Ogynistic Beauty Pageant, a comedic all-male beauty pageant and the wildest charity event ever, will benefit the Voices of Women Organizing Project and feature honest to goodness beauty queens, former Miss America Kirsten Haglund, former Miss New York Joanne Nosuchinsky, and former Miss New York Iman Oubou, overseeing the festivities. The beauty pageant contestants strutting their stuff will include
Robert Punchur (Zoolander 2, HBO)
Juannell Riley (Winner of Stand Up NY’s Bring It!)
Troy Bond (MTV, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)
The pageant will also feature special guests international rollerdancer Cecile Klaus, TV host and author Eboni K. Williams, DJ Sophia Body, PLUS your hosts for the evening Teresa Sheffield and George Diaz. So why would a former beauty queen participate in a charity event such as this? We asked former Miss New York and TV personality Joanne Nosuchinsky and she replied “As a former beauty queen, I love charities that celebrate pageantry, empower women, and bring us even closer to finding world peace.” Now that’s something we love to hear! Did I mention all the proceeds of the event will benefit battered women’s shelters? Come out TOMORROW and do good while you have a great time supporting women!
