The verse “When you’re a privileged, upper middle class, millennial, white feminist, it’s hard to get much of anything right” pretty much gets to the heart of what the new, female-driven comedy series KOMBUCHA CATCH-UP is all about. The series was part of Reckless Theatre’s Fighter Pilots competition, winning twice before being filmed as a web series. The five episode series, created by Stefanie Flamm and Kelly Webb, follows a group of theatre students as they approach their May 2016 graduation. The show is a humorous and thoughtful satire of the sometimes stifling white millennial feminism and privilege that thrives on many a campus. Kombucha Catch-Up follows Holly (Sam Evans), Delwyn (Adriana Bohmier), and Sarabeth (Stefanie Flamm) as they try to figure out their lives moving from the nurturing world of a the college Theatre Department to the cold, cruel real world. The series also includes Mike Cabellon as Matt, the often sassy voice of reason in this often dramatic theatrical group. OK, back to that verse, it’s just part of the amazing, musical intro to each episode of the series. Major kudos to the writer! Now set aside a nice chunk of time to watch all FIVE episodes of SEASON ONE, kids!
