Two weeks running, RABBIT HOLE with Jay Larson (Conan, The Late Late Show) and Rory Scovel (Those Who Can’t, Ground Floor) packed the house 8:30pm on Wednesday, December 7th at the NerdMelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics. There was a little something different about the show – Rory Scovel was missing! In place of him, Nate Bargatze (Comedy Central, Conan, Jimmy Fallon) hopped up on stage with Larson and swooned us all with his sweet southern accent while doing his best at imitating Scovel. Bargatze admitted that he doesn’t know much about science and therefore his kids are shit out of luck in asking him questions about the sun or how the earth orbits it. The whole show had a bit of an undertone theme of being aware of how desperately single and sad life can be as a comedian. Some touched on how other cities recycle their plastic while others had some one line zingers. The 2nd week’s talented line up included comedy stars Nikki Glaser (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser), Jak Knight (Comedy Central), Emily Maya Mills (Comedy Bang! Bang!), Matt Donaher (Conan), and Janelle James (@Midnight winner, Gotham Comedy Live). What can we expect week three? Only time will tell!
