It’s only Tuesday? WHAT! Let’s try to put that thought aside and think more inspiring literary thoughts. Monday, October 17th at New York’s HiFi Bar, the one with the “well-curated jukebox,” you will be treated to An Evening of Humorous Readings. So what does that mean exactly? It means those individuals with a gift for making an audience giggle will read aloud their short (haunted) humor pieces for the masses of a rock ‘n’ roll bar. If you’re keen on the works of McSweeney’s or The New Yorker’s Shouts and Murmurs then this is the place for you. The eerie October lineup will include these slightly touched souls:
John Harris (The Onion, McSweeney’s, New Yorker, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia)
Steve Macone (The New Yorker, The New York Times Sunday Review, The Atlantic)
Jenny Nelson (Funny or Die, Lark & Olive)
Hosted by
Brian Agler (The New Yorker, McSweeney’s)
Luke Burns (The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, UCB)
James Folta (The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, UCB, The Neu Jorker)
Did I mentioned it’s totally gratis and you can purchase lovely intoxicating refreshments? GO!
Mentions: Show 8pm. FREE!!! The HiFi Bar is located at 169 Avenue A, New York, NY 10009.
