Let’s just start off by saying I couldn’t post the entire title of this musical in the headline for three reasons. One, it’s probably too long for the SEO monster (not that we particularly care about search optimization, HA!). Two, if NSFW had jazzy levels like defcon, it would be off the charts. Three, a tag of that nature would probably get us on some nefarious list. OK, now with that explanation out of the way, may we present The Disembodied Hand That Fisted Everyone to Death – the Musical! SEE, that’s no ordinary clickbait! Get your parent’s permission to proceed further. The Disembodied Hand appeared in the Bad Theatre Festival at the PIT Loft in NYC in October and November of 2015. Selling out all performances, the show opened on an extended run at the PIT Loft. Continuing this streak of sellout shows the shows was transferred to the PIT Striker Mainstage and was extended two more times. Jeez, it must be really good! Lucky for your east coasters, the show will play at Reckless Theatre in NYC in September and October of this very year. The Boston Conservatory will also stage the production for Halloween this October. Chills! So what’s this show all about? I’ll tell you!
The minds behind the show, Amanda D’Archangelis and Anderson Cook, offer up a musical casserole chock full of camp, horror, love, and friendship unveiling the more serious topics of racism and sexism. Can a re-animated disembodied hand really lend a, wait for it… HAND at a university social organization like a fraternity? Of course it can! Just remember, this appendage may have to wreak some havoc in the process. Show dates for the musical are listed below. Don’t miss out!
