When Charlie said goodbye to us on ABC’s Black-ish to star on TBS’ Angie Tribecca, we were filled with panic & dread. The actor/comedian/comedy writer, Deon Cole, made Dre’s co-worker so refreshing & believable we couldn’t imagine the show without him. It’s a good thing Cole came back to reprise his role or there may have been an uproar.
You’ll be getting a lot more of that winning personality and wit very soon. Comedy Central will debut Cole’s first one-hour stand-up special Saturday, June 25th, uncensored and with limited commercial interruption. Filmed at the Lincoln Theater in Washington, D.C., Cole covers race, dating, technology and more in the special.
In addition to Dean Cole: Cole-Blooded Seminar, you can catch Cole as DJ Tanner in TBS’s Angie Tribeca, created by Nancy and Steve Carell, returning Tuesday, June 7 for it’s second season. Cole also continues his role as a featured guest correspondent on Conan (where he was a two-time Emmy-nominated writer). Summer just got so much better!
Mentions: The special drops SATURDAY, JUNE 25 at Midnight ET/PT on Comedy Central. Deon Cole: Cole-Blooded Seminar will be available on cc.com and the Comedy Central App Sunday, June 26 on cc.com. The extended and uncensored version will be available for digital download Tuesday, June 28 with the album also being released by Comedy Central Records the same day. Pre-orders begin on Tuesday, June 14. Fans should follow Cole on Twitter at @deoncole and Comedy Central Stand-Up at @ccstandup. Tweet your love using the hashtag #ColeBlooded.
