It seems every genre of comedy has been turned into some type of competitive experience on network television. You’ve seen everything from Last Comic Standing to Comedy Knockout and now USA Network introduces it’s unscripted competition series, FIRST IMPRESSIONS. Once a week you will view a half-hour impression competition that features SNL Alum Dana Carvey and host Freddie Prinze Jr (Star Wars Rebels). You may have just seen Carvey bringing back his Church Lady character on SNL this weekend. The “expert-in-residence,” Carvey, will show off three aspiring impersonators who must battle it out in a variety of challenges. A winner must be crowned and the contestants will be helped along the way by some all-star celebrity coaches including Steve Carell (The Big Short), Jay Leno (Jay Leno’s Garage), Kevin Nealon (SNL), Yvette Nicole Brown (The Odd Couple), Tom Arnold (Sons of Anarchy), Jon Lovitz (SNL) and Kate Flannery (Inside Out).
