For four weeks only you can be witness to a comedy play that simultaneously brings back memories of superhero leagues and Little Orphan Annie… but I digress. For four weeks only, visit the Annoyance Theatre NY in Brooklyn to see ORPHAN ACTION LEAGUE, featuring a 12 person cast, 2 original songs, 2 videos, choreographed fight scenes and some Flowers in the Attic action (cue subtle eyebrow raise). Creator Andrew Benedict (SOAP sketch) has brilliantly described the play as such:
Rusty Bertrand, famous eccentric orphan millionaire, made his fortune turning his vagabond childhood into the book franchise “The Hobo Kids.” Now he uses his wealth and power to assemble an elite group of crime fighting orphans known only as the: ORPHAN ACTION LEAGUE. Watch as they go to battle with a child-labor-factory-owning villain called Grandpa Moneybags who’s out to overtake the town.
Who couldn’t get on board with that story?!!! Performances begin Wednesday May 11th, with shows four Wednesdays in a row through the June 1st. Don’t miss this original work featuring Andrew Benedict, Natalia Plaza, Ben Hosley, Alex Mullen, J.W. Crump, Marybess Pritchett, Nathan Galovan, Seth Finkelstein, Erin Coughlin, Joel Straley, Brett Vetterlein and Rebecca Acevedo.
Mentions: Performances begin at 8pm. Box office info HERE. The Annoyance Theatre NY is located at 367 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY.
