Charity meets comedy once again Sunday, April 10th at Steps of Faith Foundation Presents LAUGHS FOR LIMBS. Comedians will join forces to raise awareness and money for the nonprofit public charity, Steps of Faith, that is dedicated to providing prosthetic care, hope and comfort to amputees in need of financial support. And just who might those comedians be? The night of comedy will feature
Improvised podcast group Superego (Jeremy Carter, Matt Gourley, Mark McConville, and Paul F. Tompkins)
Kay Cannon (writer of the Pitch Perfect movies, Girl Boss)
Cristela Alonzo (Cristela, Comedy Central)
Danielle Perez (Jimmy Kimmel Live!, GENTRIFICATION comedy)
hosted by comedian Monique Madrid (2 Girls 1 Pup, The Second City)
Your host Monique Madrid, who you’ll recognize as the 2 Girls 1 Pup comedy show host/organizer, also happens to be the Outreach Director at Steps of Faith. Also dedicating time to the organization is another name on the lineup, Kay Cannon, who serves on the Steps of Faith Board of Directors. Cannon really emphasizes how important a charity like this is when she says “A little bit of money goes a long way and we can help so many people. Come to the show to laugh and change people’s lives for the better.” This event is just one of many planned for the organization in celebration of April being National Limb Los Awareness Month. Comedian Danielle Perez, also appearing on the lineup, is a bi-lateral below the knees amputee, known for being the women in a wheelchair who won a treadmill on The Price Is Right. Perez says “I’m really excited to be part of something that does real good for people in need. I know from experience how cost prohibitive prosthetics can be and how frustrating dealing with insurance companies to get the proper care that you need can be, mobility should not be a luxury item.” Come support this fantastic charity and live comedy!
