We all have fears. In fact, with Halloween just around the corner this is probably the best time to face them head on. Don’t make me! Relax, scaredey-cat! Non-profit Project UROK is here to help with it’s new series BALLOON ROOM with Jenny Jaffe. In a mission to help teens/young adults cope with mental health issues UROK has a launched “Balloon Room” to demonstrate that everyone’s got something they’re afraid of. Jaffe, comedian/founder of the Project UROK, invites comedians/celebs to join her in a safe space to confront their fears. They end their session with a symbolic balloon popping and all is well with the world. Watch the first episode with comedian Cyrus McQueen (Obvious Child, Last Comic Standing) who really isn’t charmed by that styrofoam packaging. Oh, the screeching!
While we’re talking about Project UROK, the philanthropic organization teamed up with The Harry Potter Alliance to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness and economic inequality. Check out this video featuring Jack Quaid (Sasquatch Comedy, The Hunger Games, Vinyl) to learn more.
