IFC is bringing comedy to Thursday nights with two new series. The first is a hockey comedy series called BENDERS. The eight-episode series stars Lindsey Broad (The Office, 21 Jump Street), Chris Distefano (Girl Code, The Half Hour), Mark Gessner (Orange is the New Black, The Blacklist), Ruy Iskandar (Gotham, The Blacklist) and Andrew Schulz (Guy Code, co-creator/host of Brilliant Idiots podcast). Like FX’s The League, a group of friends share a special comradery based on their love of sport, in this case a passion for the men’s ice hockey team, The Chubbys. Benders premieres tonight, October 1st, on IFC at 10:00pm ET/PT. Watch the Benders cast define a hockey term just for you!
GIGI DOES IT stars David Krumholtz (This Is the End, Numb3rs, 10 Things I Hate About You) reprising a character he created for Weather From, a website where Gigi indulged the masses with her weather forecasts. In the series Gertrude Rotblum, Gigi for short, has just lost her husband. She embarks on a new path with her male buddy Ricky (played by Ricky Mabe of Goon & Zach & Miri Make A Porno) when she receives an unexpected inheritance. The first season will include Gigi’s search for love, trying out art class modeling, discovering Internet pr0n and doing everything in her power to connect with her 9-year-old grandson. He should call already! Gigi Does It premieres TONIGHT at 10:30pm ET/PT. Check out this clip in which Gigi and Ricky try to track down a missing gun:
