Last Week Tonight has worked miracles in bringing the FIFA scandal to the attention of the world. Not only did the program cover the corruption taking place in the soccer organization, but the FIFA president annnounced he would resign (although he’s changing his mind now) after the arrests of many FIFA executives. In a previous episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver told the viewers HBO had purchased five minutes of airtime on Trinidadian TV begging former vice president Jack Warner to release the damning documents he had threatened to unleash. Well, not only did Jack Warner create a response video to Oliver’s The Mittens of Disapproval Are On but he called the host a “comedian fool” in the process. Well, not only did Oliver embrace Warner’s insults, but he commandeered the dramatic music featured in the former veep’s video for his second response video. Life is indeed stranger than fiction and a flaming delight.
