Wow, can you believe it’s been 40 years since America’s best late-night live sketch comedy and variety show was born in 1975. The Lorne Michaels/Dick Ebersol collaboration has produced some of the best comedic performers known to man. Belushi, Newman, Curtin, Radner, Aykroyd, Chase, Murphy, Piscopo, Crystal, Short, Lovitz, Hartman, Meyers, Sandler, Farley, Peohler, Fey, Armisen, Hader, Sudeikis, Spade, Morgan, Louis-Dreyfus, Samberg, Wiig have Saturday Night Live to thank for their amazing careers and nation-wide exposure. Every Saturday night folks still gather to see live comedy sketches performed in front of an enthusiastic audience covering contemporary culture, politics and more. In addition to cast members gaining notoriety celebrity guests and musical acts have also used SNL as a career launching point.
