Vocabaret has been New York’s home for wordplay comedy since 2019! For tomorrow’s event at Caveat things are getting a bit conspiratorial. Every month, the show explores a new theme — from Phobias to Butts — in segments with titles like “Back That A-Z Up,” “Glossed in Translation” and “Will You Accept This Prose?”; and each year, they compete for an actual Vocab Beret in a Word Championship for the ages. Dads love them, and you will too—whether you’re a kiki or a bouba. For October, the theme is, you guessed it, CONSPIRACY! The gang is looking to give language lovers a fright with the scariest thing imaginable: people who do their own research.
They are finally exposing the truth behind all of the shadowy, deep-state coverups in the English language. Who’s silencing silent letters? What shadowy forces are gatekeeping those -gate suffixes? Are words …even real?
The truth is out there— and they’re ready to show you. Now get back to them chemtrails!
