Caitlin Peluffo’s hilariously self-deprecating debut comedy album, Dirty Bird, is now out on Blonde Medicine. The album is available everywhere comedy is streamed and sold. I won’t give away the significance of that title, but you should be aware it’s worth the wait.
This album is a culmination of Caitlin’s ten-year comedy career. Recorded in her hometown at the San Francisco Punch Line with her mom, dad and sisters in the crowd, Dirty Bird delivers rapid-fire jokes with deft control of the crowd, ADHD-tinged energy, and New York comedy scene sensibilities. On Dirty Bird, Caitlin Peluffo addresses the struggles of growing up “softball skinny”, the benefits of dating her young & short fiancé, and the complexities of creepy feminism.
We just can’t stop listening to the track A Caitlin’s Caitlin where the comic pits the Irish vs American spelling of her own moniker in a belly-laugh evoking manner. Now I’m questioning if my own name is the “Kirkland signature” brand category. Gulp. Do yourself a solid and pick up the album immediately, whatever your name be.
