If you are looking for sketch-sitcom-comedy live show that includes stand-up and harkens back to millennial Black TV comedy shows like Moesha (complete with fake advertisements), then we’ve got just the thing. TONIGHT at Caveat, celebrate Black History Month with the award-winning comics, Jeffrey Elizabeth Copeland, at BLACK OUT! Copeland is an Atlanta native who has written for house sketch teams at Upright Citizen’s Brigade (Grown Ass Women), the People’s Improv Theater (Road Pizza, Church Social), and The Baltimore Improv Group (Black History Month Extravaganza). The comic’s self-produced/written/directed web series, QuaranDream! screened at the 25th annual American Black Film Festival, and won best web series at The Dublin International Comedy Film Festival.
At BlackOut! the audience can follow Jeffrey and the cast (Aaron LaRoche, Alexis Braxton, John Ross, Kaili Y. Turner, Kalynn Chambers, Kristen Gonzalez, Shem Pennant, Will Martinez, Kurt Cruz) as they learn that their sitcom has been canned! But, Jeffrey and the crew can get back on the air if they can work together to create a Black History Month sketch show in 41 minutes. Can they do it? Come and find out!
