Quick! What are your all-time favorite kids shows? “How can you ask loaded questions this early in the morning,” you might be saying? OK, fine. We will share first. My top five would have to be The Muppet Show, SpongeBob SquarePants, Animaniacs, Adventure Time, and anything by Sid & Marty Krofft. Yes, there are way more than that, but I’d need more coffee to come up with more. If classic KIDZ shows are your jam, as well as everything English language associated, then you are in luck. THIS Friday, August 12 join VOCABARET for a special show all about elementary language in the style of those class programs. Are you ready adults?! I can’t hear you! Your ticket grants you a Magic School Bus “journey through the history of fairytales, the origin of the poop emoji, a singing guide to talking about tough stuff, and so much more!”
There will also be balloon animals, original music, and, YES, you can even get your face painted for FREE if you arrive early. You’ll be able to let that inner child out, as well as leave all those grown up worries at home. Of course, if you are watching the livestream, just lock the woes in the bathroom. Vocabaret will be keeping the show PG-rated, so if actual children should walk by during the livestream, they won’t be scarred for life! Phew! In-person attendees, of course, will still remain 21 and above. Get it? GOOD!! This show will be hosted by Sam Corbin, Tim Donnelly, Jerzy Gwiazdowski, Ally Spier and Nikolai Vanyo, five heavyweight word champions who’ve racked up more than 100 titles at the Punderdome, taken home trophies at the Pun-Off World Championships and confused the stuffing out of America’s Got Talent. In fact, their quips have been featured in The New Yorker, InStyle, The New York Post, The President Show and all over the puniverse. Isn’t that special!
