Wednesday, August 3rd and Thursday, August 4th, as part of Mike & Carlee Productions’ Summer of Comedy at Cherry Lane, nationally-headlining comedian and cartoonist MO WELCH will unite art and comedy for a show all about Mo’s attachment issues (enlisting the help of her animated friend Mole, who used to be literally attached to the comic). Originally hailing from Normal, Illinois, and now residing in Los Angeles, Welch has appeared on Conan twice. Her comics have been published in The New Yorker, Cosmopolitan Magazine, & Vice, and more. Her 10-part animated series BLAIR debuted on TBS Digital in 2018. Blair is the author of the illustrated self-help guide How to Die Alone: The Foolproof Guide to Not Helping Yourself, and her Audible podcast, Come Out, Come Out, has featured guests like Roxanne Gay and Mae Martin. Welch has come a long way since those early days Normal, folks!
Producers Mike Lavoie and Carlee Briglia conceptualized the summer series “based on the belief that off-Broadway could be a developmental space where one-person comedy shows can take shape in front of live audiences and be presented on the same stage as great dramas like True West and The Vagina Monologues.” MO WELCH: MOLE is sure to continue the legacy of such great works blending stand-up and comedy live. Come be a part of this event!
