Sands by Willa is a ONE-NIGHT ONLY comedy show happening at the LES’s Caveat Wednesday, September 8th. It is a comedic play inspired by the plotline from the American satirical comedy-drama HBO streaming series, Succession. You know, the one where the dysfunctional; Roy family fights for control of a global media and entertainment conglomerate, with the added complexity of the family’s patriarch in a compromised state. So how exactly is Succession involved? The play will be performed as a staged reading, and is a behind-the-scenes look at opening night, “when mayhem strikes because the lead actress has run off to Dundee with her new boyfriend Kendall, and there are sand mites involved. Consider it one part “Succession” fanfic, one part “Noises Off,” and all very much a “love letter to both the Roys and Broadway.” Awww. The show was written by Ellen Haun, directed by Sam French and will feature:
Michelle Veintimilla
Michael Antonucci
Harron Atkins
Jay Wolff
Jackson Perrin
Mary Mattison
Jaynie Parmenter
and Rachel MacKnight!
So go temporarily abandon your own family to learn all about this totally bonkers one!
