If you loved the first episode of BOOKED featuring Katrina Davis, then you will be bowled over by the latest episode featuring one of the series’ producers Theo Manhattan. The NPR Tiny Desks inspired stand-up comedy series was filmed in front of a bookstore audience (back when that was still possible) and brings a heavy dose of laughs to those in all states of quarantine. In the newest episode of Booked, the Minnesotan Manhattan brings us jokes about the need to replace those trite joke location references, the culture shock of moving to Cali from the Upper Midwest, fun facts regarding Minnesota’s multiple lakes, a rather dark realization about Webster, Massachusetts’ fourteen syllable lake name, Cali’s love of abbreviations and hierarchical labels, and the missed branding opportunities for eatery slogans and their demographics. As Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh would say “there is no way to happiness – happiness is the way,” so for the love of sanity, go laugh it up today. Did I actually rhyme that? (I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it. Commence unified eye rolling). Enjoy!
