2020 has brought us enough tricks for a lifetime. Why not enjoy some major treats as MY NEIGHBORS ARE DEAD bring listeners a FULL month of Friday the 13th movie themed episodes. You will be getting episodes TWICE a week (Tuesday and Fridays) filled with comedy and horror flick talk. As per usual, expect a healthy helping of guests getting into lesser known character. The first two episodes of this special movie month are out now. Let’s address them swiftly. The October 2nd episode features Kelly Nugent (Teen Creeps) who gives us her take on the rules of horror films, as well as the electrically gifted Jason Voorhees. We get to find out about Nugent’s “post-post-post-apocalyptic” podcast Exile created in audio diary format, PLUS host Adam Peacock introduces us to the salami-blooded Kim Milk, who tells us about growing up with Pamela Voorhees.
The newest episode in the month long series features comedian and actor Betsy Sodaro (A Funny Feeling, We Love Trash). Peacock and Sodaro get into the craziness that is the 1985 Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. Not only do the two cover the lawless “hillbilly” with the pristine, permed hair, Ethel, but Sodaro is shocked to learn about the existence of Devil’s Night. The audience will delight in hearing Sodaro’s true story of being terrified of her sibling’s threats of a well-dressed religious sect’s kidnapping penchant. The listener also gets pulled into an enviable world where yearly Halloween pizza parties and parades ruled the roost. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true My Neighbors Are Dead episode without a visit from a lesser known character of the horror film genre. Look forward to a hilarious introduction to Lucy, a woman who’s husband was turned into a rock and is totally nonchalant about running a murder hotel.
