By now, we’ve all caught an episode of the Netflix “The Boys” in which superheroes live amongst us. Well, I have a feeling that “Chair Person’s” star, Shannon, may be more than capable of joining the Vought team. In this Easterseals Disability Film Challenge Submission, we find wheelchair user Shannon (played by Shannon DeVido who you may recognize from Difficult People & Law & Order) ready to take on the world with her talents. Shannon isn’t any order person. She is special, in the most unexpected way. We soon learn that Shannon can do anything she puts her mind to because she has some very handy, self-described “mutant superpowers.”
Shannon is capable of moving objects with her mind, turning up the heat in a room, manipulating people’s choices, and running for a position as local Borough Council Chairperson (“pun intended”). Watch her win over the voter with her powers in a grass roots campaign sure to sway any naysayer. (Yes, even her former classmate, James). Enjoy and get the word out about Chair Person! The challenge video with the most likes & shares at the end of the week will win a prize! The contest ends August 2nd. Has Shannon swayed YOU?
Mentions: The Easterseals Disability Film Challenge gives filmmakers, with & without disabilities, the opportunity to collaborate to tell unique stories that showcase disability in its many forms. This “At Home” version of the challenge was created so everyone could create safely amidst a pandemic. More info HERE. Shannon DeVido and Aubrie Williams are “King Friday Productions.”
